Tuesday Morning Report

There is a lot to unpack over the last day and looking head for the next few. Here we briefly summarize and look to the forecast. This includes video from the snow squall pile up on I-81 in Pennsylvania and a severe storm outlook in two days.

I believe there is no debate that March is going out like a lion.

Yesterday’s Polar Vortex Visit

The core of the cold air has reached us. The Polar Vortex was observed over metro New York at 2 PM Monday.

Before it arrived, Baltimore reaches a high of 38ºF, just one degree above the record coldest max temp for the date.

Snow Squall Pile Up

At least 3 people were killed in this 62 car/truck pile up on I-81 in Schuylkill County PA yesterday.

WARNING: This is RAW and REAL so please TURN DOWN THE VOLUME for language.

Mike Moye recorded the traffic accident on I-81. Visibility had dropped to near zero, and after the initial crash, the rest was unstoppable.  The danger here continued for people out of their cars, then in danger of getting hit. Watch closely and you will see how close some people came to being crushed.

The aftermath was beyond belief

Wednesday Brief Sleet or Mix

This may come during the morning commute. Considering how cold it has been, there could be some stickage, so we need to watch this. It may only last for 1 to 3 hours.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:

I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell.  I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.

I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.

All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.

I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…

It’s part of my charm.
