Sunday November 28
Today wraps up the holiday weekend with the start of the Hanukkah 8 night festival AND The Raven’s night game in Baltimore. More on that below.
But before getting to today’s weather. I wanted to do a brief recap of the snow last night. I feel I must since I’ve been talking about it for 5 days. The excitement of seeing the first flakes across parts of central Maryland and southern PA proved worthwhile. It also helps me lear a few things I can apply going forward into the season.
Early Arrival Last Night
I was out all day, but came home in the evening to this radar view I shared (In Live Updates and on social media). This initial round of snow and rain arrived a few hours early- a theme I have mentioned often. But this was even earlier than my adjusted call.
I actually tried to downplay this thinking there was a lot of virga with the dry air. However, there were so many reports throughout central Maryland the justified my snow map with where flurries would fall. Even with temps just above freezing, there was cold enough air aloft to support snow flakes falling.
This also supported my theory that there would be more coverage than suggested by the model simulations. We will remember that for next time.
Confirmation VIDEO Of First Flakes
Here is video I shared of the light snow and some stickage at my house…

Faith in the Flakes
(For a little bit)
Yes, I had some stickage on the planks of our elevated deck, but by this morning a lot has melted… So if you did see snow, but if you woke up late, you may have missed any coating.

Animation Monday Night To Thursday Morning
The pattern keeps quick moving systems passing to our north. We will get clipped again with a chance for flurries Tuesday morning in similar locations to this first round. Then perhaps some early rain showers Thursday.
This will actually allow some mild air back to near average or a few days.
7 Day Forecast
The warmest day of the week will be Thursday. After some morning showers, temps have a chance to briefly hit the 60s.
