Morning Report
This is the first of two winter-like weather systems we get this week. Rain has developed, and it will be heavy. Especially in southern Maryland where over 1 inch may fall. Near Baltimore you might see some flakes mixing in, but the better chance will be in the inland suburbs north/west.
West on I-68 there will be stickage in Garrett County.
Traveling to PA may be an issue, especially along and north of the Turnpike (I-76). If you go north on I-81 there will be stickage on mountain roads.

The wintry mix seems to be developing around Hagerstown/Frederick/Westminster… It’s nearby if not in those cities yet.
We are in the window for the wintry mix to expand through 9 AM.
As we have been saying, we are above freeing, so no road worries locally. Western Maryland will get stickage, and watch for the mountains of central PA.

Western Maryland’s Garrett County may get 3 inches or more. Same with central PA NORTH of the PA Turnpike.

If you are comparing to your weather app, there is a reason it is showing 50s for high temps. That will be in the morning!
This is the influence of the polar air… But with snow falling during the afternoon the warmer ground and higher sun angle will likely mean pavement stays wet.
We will need to watch higher elevations for some possible stickage and ice at night.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
