Monday January 3 2022
At 6 AM, the snow has begun and all seems to be on schedule. If anything, perhaps a little ahead of pace with snow already sticking on the ground with temps still above freezing. Temps will fall and snow will increase over the next few hours.
Here is quick first look around the region.

I will have frequent updates on the Live News Page.
Doppler Radar
The north edge of the snow appears to be through Frederick and Westminster. Steady snow falling and starting to stick east and south of that line.
This will expand a little more north for a few hours, then hold steady.
Southern MD starting as rain was expected, will change to snow during the day.
Temperatures and Wind Barbs
The north wind will increase and temps will continue to fall as snow intensifies. Most of central Maryland will drop below freezing this morning, allowing for more stickage.
Satellite Loop
This circulation is impressive! Low Pressure is wrapping through South Carolina and highly wrapped up!

Reminder: My Final Call For Snowfall
Issued Sunday night
Wet snow this morning, will become more ‘fluffy’ as temps get colder later this morning.
Looking Ahead: Thursday – Friday
It appears another winter weather event is likely to hit by Friday morning.
This shows a track over our region with a snow/mix. Once again we need to be cautious of model errors… But the pattern does support an event.
Track and totals way too early to show.
