August 28 Dense Fog On Eastern Shore Signals More Humidity
August 28 2022
Sunday Morning Update
On Saturday there was a cluster of heavy storms that developed near the beaches and Lower Eastern Shore as was expected… This post I shared was just before 3 PM. That same area did get some local flooding and even pockets of hail. The net result was leftover soggy ground and thick fog, which is a signal for the rest of us.
Dense Fog Advisory
The Maryland Low Eastern Shore Counties are in the thick of this, but the fog will lift shortly.
While this is a direct result of the storms and soggy ground, it does signal more humidity for the region, as winds will increase from the ocean today.
Morning Surface Weather
There is not much of a trigger for any storms today, other than just more humidity with the increasing easterly wind.

Wind Forecast
It will not be a strong wind, but strong enough to add moisture to the air…
Radar Simulation Comparison
Isolated storms mid afternoon. These will be scattered and hard to preempt, so it’s a watch and wait type of day.
Odds you get a storm are 20%, with higher chances near the Bay.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
