Sunday Morning Update

Today should be the peak of our heat wave. As we max out, temperatures will be close to the record high for Baltimore’s BWI. The Heat Advisory in place means temps will FEEL as high as 107ºF

Today is also my mother’s birthday. I will not give away her age, but if that was the temperature we would be more comfortable!  The good news is that there is comfortable air in sight this week.

First we must transition and that includes the RISK for Severe Storms on Monday followed by a few more days with storms during the week.

Morning Temperatures

Satellite Loop 5:16 AM to 7:16 AM

Like yesterday, I think we need to watch this storm complex to our NW fro adding late day clouds and perhaps sparking storms in the mountains.

Afternoon Temperatures

Note that the record at BWI was set in 2010. The models have it getting close, and if it is reached it is likely to happen between 3 PM and 5 PM.

Short range modeling has been performing poorly, so I am not showing them today. However, we may see some storms develop in the mountains and track east late day and evening. Stay tuned…

NOTICE: Maryland Trek 9 Begins One Week From Today!

I will continue to post weather daily, but my attention will be shifting next week:

My all volunteer team will be hiking and biking 329 from the summit of Wisp to Ocean City in 7 days. We will be sharing the stories of kids in and post cancer treatment and need your support!

This includes donation (100% goes to programs at Just In Power Kids)

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:

I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell.  I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.

I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.

All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.

I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…

It’s part of my charm.
