July 22 Break From Humidity Today Then Chance For Record Heat This Weekend
July 22 2022
Friday Morning Update
Have you had enough of the heat? Well, for perspective this is the anniversary of Baltimore set the second hottest day on record. It was on this date in 2011 when BWI hit 106ºF. We will not be close to that this time, thankfully!
If you are heading to the beach this weekend, I have the conditions for Ocean City posted below.
An old front is a stalled front over the region that ignited severe storms across southern Maryland yesterday. This has allowed a slight break from the high humidity. The heat, that is still with us. However, the Heat Advisories are from northern Delaware through the Northeast cities up to New York and Boston.
Enjoy the brief break as HIGH HEAT will return this weekend. It may challenge the record high on Sunday.
Storms: There is nothing organized expected, but isolated showers through the weekend. This will be followed by increasing stormy chances early next week.

Morning Temperatures
Warm and muggy in southern Maryland (where it rained yesterday), but still a hint of lower humidity inland that will try to spread today.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
