Morning Report
As winter fades away, we shift our focus to the day to day outdoor activities. As a parent with two kids in sports, I understand the importance of tracking rain and wet fields. That will be an issue for the next two days.
Yesterday reached 73ºF in Baltimote, helping to dry out the soggy soil, but a new round of rain will arrive tonight into tomorrow. The good news is that ‘most’ of our days will be in the 60s and 70s, and dry over the next week.
Headlines
- Today back into the lower 70s again
- Tonight, rain arrives late
- Tomorrow: Rain/more near Baltimore, South and East
- Next chance of rain will be Saturday
Morning Set Up
Surface Weather
The next southern storm (that’s where our snow last weekend arrived from) will bring us increasing clouds today. So watch for a milky white sky and fading sunshine this afternoon. But we should be warm again.
The rain will arrive tonight and through most of tomorrow.

Rain Plotting Through Saturday
After tomorrow’s rain event we watch for the push of the next system on Saturday. This will come with warmer air. It will not be a washout, and hard to call it a ‘soggy’ day, but the chance for showers is about 60% and it rain could last for a few hours in the afternoon.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
