Wednesday Morning Update
It is out turn to get in on the high heat. We have been spoiled this summer, so it may take some getting adjusted to. Especially with the humidity building each day.
I want to emphasize that the forecast temperatures for our region are something we can usually expect at last once every one or two summers.
We expect to have the next 7 days over 90 degrees with a chance to hit 100ºF once or twice. But I have included the record heat waves to show that we are likely to not set any new marks locally for this round.
This Morning
Morning Temperatures
A warm start but still tolerable.
Satellite Loop 4:11 AM to 6:11 AM
The swirl in the Great Lakes is where the storm track is focused to our north.
This is helping to shift the jet stream and allow the heat in the Central US to PUMP IN our direction…
Afternoon Temperatures
It is suggested to limit your outdoor activities, especially for young kids, elderly, and in poor health.
Please consider your pets and how pavement will be much hotter than the air which can burn their paws. So take your dog walk early in the day or in the evening. (by the way, if you need a good dog training facility…)
Water is the BEST hydration. Coffee and alcohol will dehydrate you and can lead to overheating.

7 Day Forecast
Here we go! No much relief until early next week… That is if we can keep things moving. When heat waves establish they can tend to linger longer.
Every day for the next week will be over 90ºF, with a day or two possibly hitting 100ºF. However this numbers should remain just shy of the records for each date. Sunday may be the closest we get.. and with BWI tending to run extra HOT, there is still a chance to get one new title on Sunday.
Notice the overnight Low temps not providing relief.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
