July 10 Clearing North While Clouds Linger South And Beaches
July 10 2022
Sunday Morning Update
Yesterday I posted about the potential flooding followed by the official Flood Watch AND Excessive Rainfall Moderate Risk. It appears that the slight adjustment today will be the focus of that heavy rain for southern Maryland to the beaches.
Anniversary Of Baltimore’s Hottest Day
This is the tie of the year when we experience our average hottest temperatures. However back in 1936, the peak of the heat was recorded in Baltimore and many other places in the US.
107ºF was recorded on July 10, 1936 making the hottest day on record for Baltimore. This was day after it already reached 103ºF.
Image no air conditioning on that day!
Not today! We are continuing to have a below average temperature pattern, with a few hot days in between.
Yesterday BWI recorded a High of 76ºF, which is 13 degrees BELOW Average.
Morning Low Temperatures
Cooler 50s re showing up in PA where the sky has cleared out, however there is also patchy thick fog.
Clouds and a hint of mugginess lingers in southern Maryland.
Morning Surface Weather
The stalled front remains to our south, where rain showers continue. Clouds are holding in southern Maryland, while clearing is expanding from Pennsylvania. While there is fog this morning near the border, sun will break out will low humidity and pleasant temperatures.
Morning Satellite Loop 4:30 AM to 6:30 AM
Clearing in western and parts of central Maryland to Pennsylvania, while clouds continue to linger in souther Maryland and Delmarva to the beaches. Gradually the cleaning will expand south and east.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
