Friday Morning Update
Do you remember the 70s? Not the decade, but the temperatures… outside. The last day Baltimore hit the 70s was April 22. That was almost 2 full weeks ago and actually the ‘average’ high for this time of year. It looks like we will change the pattern with a double win. We will get back there over the weekend.
This morning is still chilly, and the afternoon will be cool. However, we will are on the warming trend. The trend looks like it will hold into next week as we return to some normalcy.
Morning Surface Weather
High Pressure is in control over the Mid Atlantic. This has allowed the sky to clear for the full moon overnight. It has also allowed for a chilly morning and some areas of patchy fog. If you are by the water or in a valley it is more likely. This will disperse quickly.
With more sunshine today, we will start to modify a little… But we will not be completely clear.
There is a small chance for spotty showers this afternoon and evening.

Radar Simulations
Comparing the HRRR Model and NAM 3 Km, we can see the spotty showers, but not in the same locations. There will be a greater chance in central PA, also Northeastern Maryland and Delmarva. But we can’t rule out an isolated quick shower in central Maryland.
The models are just a guide and are NOT perfect.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos, and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes, and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it: I have dyslexia, and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing, and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor that can check my work when I needed it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos, when she is able. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
