November 6 Weather Morning Rain Then Cooler And Maybe A Tropical System On The Way
November 6 2022
Sunday Morning Update
It does not feel like November with mild temperatures this morning. Rain has spread in as expected. This should be mostly a morning event for areas west of the Chesapeake Bay, then we have another warm afternoon. There may be more showers later, but later is earlier now with the END of Daylight Saving Time!
A big change is on the way this week that will include a dramatic cool down AND possibly the impact of a new tropical system to hit Florida and ride up the coast by the end of the week.
Rocket Launch From Wallops Island
If you woke up early for the show off the East Coast, it did not happen today. Weather was not the reason, but rather a fire alarm in the mission control center. The launch has been rescheduled for 5:27 AM on Monday.
Morning Surface Weather

The cold front is still west of Maryland. It will take all day to move through. That will allow our temps to remain warm, but could also re-surge rain showers again later – after this morning’s round.

This model has plotted the morning rain best, and shows it falling apart by lunch time.
HRRR Model: 7 AM to 7 PM
This simulation shows that old boundary redeveloping rain in the same inland suburbs and hill country late afternoon and evening.
If you have afternoon plans, there may be a late shower. Then again, the sun will be setting by 5 PM.
Afternoon Temperatures
Another mild day between the clouds and perhaps more showers later. The SUN WILL SET CLOSE TO OR BEFORE 5 PM (depending on your location).

TROPICS
The National Hurricane Center has suggested a new Tropical System is expected to develop. Here is the 5-day outlook, showing 80% chance for a named tropical storm forming near the Bahamas. It is then expected to hit southern Florida and ride north up the east coast to our region Friday and Saturday.
The next two names are: Nicole and Owen
GFS Model: Storm Animation Wednesday to Saturday.
Track the ‘landfall’ of that new tropical system in southeast Florida, then rolling up the east coast to bring us rain later on Friday.
