Saturday Morning Update
High Pressure dominates the eastern US, meaning plenty of sunshine is to be expected. This time of the year that should mean a full force of heat, but we still have the residual cool air mass that is modifying. It will be warm, but not full on heat… yet.
We will get some 90s this weekend, but it is later in the work week when that heat dome may very well expand our way.
Morning Surface Weather
While we remain nice, the center of the stormy region continues to be around Chicago.
Morning Satellite Loop
4 AM to 6 AM
Not much to see here. Well, if you had fog, that doesn’t show well on satellite. However, it will be burning off and leaving most of us with a mostly sunny day.
Morning Low Temperatures
Afternoon Temperatures
Getting back up to normal summer levels.

Looks Ahead: Jet Stream
That heat dome we have mentioned for a few weeks missing us is about to make a move. It looks like we will finally get in on the action, which has been delayed for the most part this summer.
While we have had a day or two in the 90s, the end of next week should bring in the force of the high heat.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
