June 15 Warm Today Then Another Stormy Day Tomorrow Clearing For Fathers Day Weekend
June 15 2022
Wednesday Morning Update
Today we get a break from the action, but it will be warm. Not the excess heat that has been dominating much of the nation, but warmer than yesterday.
Tomorrow we can expect storms that may turn severe both early morning around sunrise then again at night.
Following will be a pleasant weather pattern for Father’s Day Weekend.
Morning Surface Weather
While we are on the edge of that Heat Dome, we watch another storm complex developing. This will ride ‘over the top’ and down into our region Thursday. That may reach us in two separate events.
Satellite Loop:
4 AM to 6 AM – Tow complexes this morning. Watch closely and you can see the movement ‘turning the corner’ – ‘over the top’ of the Ridge, then diving south into our direction. That is what we expect by tomorrow morning.

THURSDAY: ANOTHER STORMY DAY
The storms may be focused in two separate events:
We track the complex from the Great Lakes to reach us tomorrow morning. Then a line of strong or severe storms at night.

Snapshots:
Morning:
The timing has been a little faster, so we can just simplify this first round as around or just after sunrise…
Evening:
The second line of severe storms needs to be watched for possible earlier timing. If so, then the risk for severe storms will increased with residual heat of the day elevating the energy upon arrival.
NOAA Severe Storm Risk
This product is likely to expand the region of ‘Slight Risk’ father east. That is why I hurried this at the bottom of this post…
Any severe storm can produce: Large Hail, Damaging Wind, Isolated Tornado, and Flash Flooding.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
