Friday Morning Report

Today’s weather will be wonderful. Low humidity brings the June version of crispness to the air, but also afternoon clouds. The cooler air aloft can lead to self destructive sunshine at times. Rising warm air quickly produces clouds with the set up aloft.

This weekend is still a wild card. Last night I wrote a report trying to be optimistic. That is because while rain is likely, we may see it broken up, including dry hours in between to squeeze in some events. The problem is that all computer guidance has a slightly different variation of where the rain sets up, making the confidence low.

I will share my take below, trying to simplify it. But we will have to deal with some lingering rain as well on Sunday, keeping an eye on the radar both days.

The rain maker to our west is what we are watching for both Saturday and lingering Sunday…

Weekend Weather:

Rain, but when and where?  Please know there will be breaks.

Repeating my prior message: I need to emphasize that we expect rain on Saturday. It is ‘likely’, but it may not last the entire day. There will be some breaks.

In general: Morning band of rain, then scattered showers. Both Days!

Looking Ahead To Sunday:

Compare the ECWMF To GFS Models

Here is the conflict: There is not full agreement on the timing and location.  So the best I can suggest is:

Morning rain, then scattered showers or T’storms in the afternoon.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:

I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell.  I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.

I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.

All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.

I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…

It’s part of my charm.
