June 8 Weather Warms Today With Storms Tonight Then Breezy And Clearing
June 8 2022
Wednesday Morning Report
Today we should all notice a warm up. This surge of ‘some’ heat will be ahead of the next weather system and should help prove my point for the last few days: Weather apps may have shown you rain or thunderstorms both today and tomorrow. However, the bulk will be overnight for most of us. However, there may be some pop up showers by the beaches.
Our radar simulations show the timeline and some contrast in development, but in general they agree.
This weekend, unfortunately the rain is still on for Saturday, but there is some hope later in the day.
Morning Set Up
Surface Weather
Most of the day will be nice, but a fast moving pattern will race in the next weather maker by this evening. A cluster of storms will arrive for most of us by or after sunset/ The rain and even some thunder will be tonight, providing a nice drink for the garden.
By tomorrow, this will be gone, and we get into a strong breeze that will clear us out.

Rain Developing: Compare Timelines
Here is a look at the HRRR and NAM 3 Km Model simulations. I will post detailed slider in my next report.
Both agree with cluster of rain and storms to the west later in the day. Then more widespread storms AFTER 9 PM.
HRRR Model: 5 PM to 10 PM
HRRR Snapshot at 9 PM
This is more robust with a direct hit across metro areas.
NAM 3 Km Snapshot at 9 PM
This model shows that cluster in southern Maryland, then turning north but more scattered in metro areas around midnight.
NAM 3 Km Model: 4 PM to 8 AM Thursday

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
