Sunday Morning Report

This is the time of year we shift our weather focus with the unofficial start of summer. The actual weather seems to be cooperating this time.  A calm pattern allows us to simply talk about the temperatures, and they will be heating up. A little heat wave is building, and will start on Memorial Day.  Check it out:

Morning Set Up

Surface Weather

High Pressure is in control. Plenty of sunshine and light wind will allow the temps to shoot above normal (compare to Current Conditions tab on the right).   Enjoy today, because the heat is building in the Midwest and will be spreading our way tomorrow.

Satellite Loop: 5 AM to 7 AM

All of the active weather will be across the Northern Plains states.

Our region will continue to be mostly clear.

Looking Ahead: Wednesday Through Friday

The only active weather system will be this cold front on Thursday. That will break the heat wave and get us back to pleasant weather next weekend.

7 Day Forecast

Another heat wave with most of next week expected to reach the 90s, then break with storms on Thursday.  A return to pleasant weather by Friday… Which is perfect for the High School graduation I will be attending.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:

I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell.  I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.

I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.

All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.

I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…

It’s part of my charm.
