Friday Morning Update
What can I do as a meteorologist AND a man on a mission. I have my job to share weather information which is why most people visit my pages. I have also spent the last 10 years taking one week out of the year to hike and bike across Maryland to honor kids in cancer treatment. More than a dozen people volunteer their time to join me trekking, supporting, and producing video stories to raise awareness. We do this to raise money to support our FREE HOLISTIC programs.
Thank you for visiting here for my weather report. Local weather is below and I plan to continue all week, but please note my attention is on Maryland Trek 10. My team began Sunday from the summit of Wisp Ski Resort for our week-long journey to Ocean City.

Our team reached Mile 200 as we were joined by families and friends for a short section of the B and A Trail. This is a symbol of the connection we are proud to make with Just In Power Kids and our Maryland Trek Team.
Crossing The Chesapeake Bay

Today’s route will take us from Grasonville along Rt 50, through Wye Mills, then back on to Rt 50 into Easton on foot. You may see our team in orange shorts walking at a fast pace.
Then we will bike across Delmarva through Preston to Sharptown and finish at the Carnival. A total of 47 miles.

High Pressure is in control for a few days. On this side, we will get low humidity thanks to a breeze from the West/Northwest. Stormy weather will erupt in the Midwest and remain out of our region. Eventually, this will shift east as we heat up this weekend into early next week.
A moderate breeze with low humidity will build up today. It will feel pleasant with plenty of sunshine.
The breeze from the West to Northwest will average 10 to 20 mph.
Most areas will be near seasonal norms under plenty of sunshine.

Normal High in Baltimore: 87ºF

Starting to heat back up again with many areas in the 90s under sunshine. Any chance for thunderstorms will be more likely in the mountains.
No major organized storm systems, but the instability will increase later in the weekend and early next week.
After this cooler day, the heat is expected to return this weekend. Then more storms will erupt early next week.
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes, and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it: I have dyslexia, and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing, and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor that can check my work when I needed it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
