Friday Morning Update

These clouds have been so stubborn, and lingering with a few showers this morning into southern Maryland. That may have hindered your ability to see the Perseid Meteor Shower last night, but the bright light from the Full Supermoon would have limited the display anyway.

Clearing will gradually spread today, along with a breeze that ushers in a less humid air mass. That will set us up for pleasant weekend.

Happy Anniversary to my wife Shannon. This cooler weather may be more of a gift for me than her, but I’ll make up for it somehow…

Jet Stream: Change To A Cooler Pattern

Through Next Wednesday we see a progressive and persistent cool pattern. The first impulse will be dry this weekend. The next impulse will bring in rain on Monday and Tuesday.

Morning Showers- Southern Maryland

Doppler Radar Snapshot at 6:30  AM

Some thunder around Rehoboth is a signal that heavier rain and some storms remain this morning around the beaches.

Rain will continue to shift east through southern Maryland this morning…

Clearing is spreading from farther inland…

Morning Surface Weather

Clearing is the case in western Maryland and PA.

That will spread through metro areas and eventually Delmarva by late morning and into the afternoon.

This new air mass is cooler and less humid.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:

I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell.  It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.

I do miss mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.

All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.

There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.

I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…

It’s part of my charm.
