August 11 Weather Morning Showers Then Nice Into Weekend
August 11 2022
Thursday Morning Update
The flooding lived up to expectations with many areas of central Maryland getting 3 to 5 inches of rain. With that said, there were many that missed out as well. I keep hearing that parts of Carroll County has brown grass and a lack of rain just a short drive from the flooding. It is just bad luck in the pattern of all or nothing.
Baltimore’s BWI reported 0.81”, yet over 2” fell in Baltimore City and over 3″ fell in Middle River.
Rainfall Estimate From Doppler Radar (Wednesday)
I will post a complete list of Storm Reports separately.
Top Rainfall OVER 5 inches in Upper Marlboro and near Fort Washington.
Today: Morning showers Then Lower Humidity
Live Radar Widget
Rain showers are still moving through central Maryland this morning.
This will include Frederick, Montgomery, and Howard Counties, Baltimore City, then into Anne Arundel County through Annapolis before 8 AM.
Morning Surface Weather
This rain band is along the cold front that will slowly slip south and allow less humid air to move in.
Afternoon Temperatures
There is a small chance for afternoon showers. I do not trust the short range modeling, so I am not posting any images… But if something pops up I will share on social media ahead of time.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
