July 8 Humid Afternoon Then Heavy Rain Saturday May Lead To Flooding
July 8 2022
Friday Morning Update
Today we can feel the moisture in the air. Early fog and clouds will lift, and afternoon sun will help it feel more muggy. Any storms that form later today and this evening should be inland.
That rain will spread in overnight and be quite heavy! Even before sunrise!
Flooding is a concern with some of the rain totals forecast Saturday, but there is hope that it moves out for part of the region during the afternoon.
The beaches will have their washout Saturday afternoon.
Sunday brings on a major improvement then a brief heat surge next week.
Morning Surface Weather
This has been and continues to be an active weather pattern for mid summer. A staled frontal boundary is to our south but a wave of Low Pressure in The Midwest will head our way and pull in a lot of moisture Saturday.
This will be a one day event, so the second half of the weekend will be much better.
Afternoon Temperatures
After morning clouds, the sun this afternoon will warm us up but it will be the higher humidity you are likely to feel.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
