Tuesday Morning Update
It is noticeably colder this Halloween morning as that cold front has moved through. Rain is still falling across Southern Maryland to the beaches and that may linger all day as the front has stalled.
Colder air is on the way, which will be marked by one more disturbance tonight. That is what will bring the first snow of the season to Western Maryland and maybe some flurries to the inland hills.
We remain on the mild side.
The cold front finally moved through but is now stalling along the coast. This will keep the rain band across Southern Maryland/Southeast Virginia through tonight.
Chilly air is in place and even colder air is on the way. This leading edge is a disturbance that is producing snow into Michigan where some areas may get up to 1 foot.
Snow showers will reach parts of our area tonight.
Rain will resurge for Southern Delmarva while showers in the mountains will start to mix with snow this evening and tonight.
8 PM Radar: Rain Showers are likely on the Lower Eastern Shore to the beaches. This may include Easton, Cambridge, and Lexington Park… to Salisbury, and Ocean City.
Snow Showers will begin for Garrett County and around Deep Creek Lake.

The front will stall and keep the showers through the evening across Southern Maryland/Lower Delmarva.
Snow in Western Maryland while a quick shower or flurries may cross into central Maryland.
Snow Showers for Western Maryland may add up to a 1-inch coating on the ground.
A Freeze Watch is already in place for most of Maryland.

The cold air will sweep in midweek, then modify getting us back near or slightly above average by the end of the week.
The core of the cold air will be Wednesday into Thursday morning. A Freeze Watch is in place for much of Maryland… then warming up this weekend.

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
