November 2 Freeze Warning Then Warmer This Weekend
November 2, 2023
Thursday Morning Update
The coldest air of the season passed through our region and made its way as far south as Florida. A Freeze Warning is in place which is confirmed by 20s and lower 30s across much of our interior areas. There are pockets near 40ºF by the warmer Chesapeake Bay.
It is common after a strong cold snap to bounce back in a few days to warmer temperatures. We will have that this weekend with no storms in sight for a while.
Freeze Warning This Morning
Morning Temperatures
Deep Freeze for much of our region.
Morning Surface Weather
High Pressure dominates the East Coast.
Freeze Warnings have pushed far into the Deep South including parts of the Florida Panhandle.
The back side of High Pressure will be shifting winds from the Southwest and pumping in warmer air this weekend and into next week.

Animation Thursday to Wednesday
After this cold front passes by, a big warm-up will surge in this weekend and the middle of next week.
Snapshot Saturday
A nice weekend gets temperatures back above average. The 70s are not done yet. If we don’t see them this weekend, we will get there early next week.
7 Day Forecast
It is common for early cold snaps to bounce back quickly to a big warm-up. It is also common for temperatures to end up warmer than first expected. That is why I posted 70s for a couple of days.
The Chance For Rain next Wednesday is subject to change as it is one week away, but that is how it looks for now.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
