Thursday Afternoon
Have you noticed the darkening sky? That has been a combination of the latest smoke plume and increasing clouds. The good news is that this weather system is helping to push the smoke away.
This weather system is tracking through the southern half of our region, but we all may get something. I am not expecting severe weather, just weather that may affect your plans… Then we can look forward to a nicer weekend.
Satellite Loop: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
Weather Set Up
This weather system is located in the Ohio Valley and is not very well organized. More of the rain is focused east and south… but I expect it will expand into metro Baltimore this evening.

Radar Simulation 2 PM to Midnight
So as we extrapolate further, it may be best to consider the rain may expand an hour or two faster.
7 PM Snapshot
Here we do see spotty showers reaching into Metro Baltimore.
Friday Radar Forecast
8 AM to Midnight
The day may start off damp in central Maryland. Light rain may linger near the Bay and Delmarva.
The next focus will be a line of thunderstorms that develops in PA and drops south into Maryland by the evening and overnight.
Snapshot 10 PM Friday
This may be the line of storms that will eventually bring in a new air mass and nicer weather for the weekend.
7 Day Forecast
Personal Note:
I am in my final preparation for Maryland Trek 10. We roll out this Saturday, and our team begins from the summit of Wisp on Sunday. I plan to continue writing a forecast each morning for you and/or our part of the state each day. However, they will be shorter posts due to time constraints. Also, I will share via email, but not on Facebook, as we need to play with the algorithm to get our event the best reach. Please sign up here if you have not already to receive weather updates.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is able. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
