Thursday Morning Update
A strong cold front will be moving through today. It will kick up periods of rain and some thunderstorms that have a small chance to turn severe. However, if you have seen the severe weather outbreaks in the Upper Midwest yesterday with this system, it has lost some of its punch today.
Winds will be gusty at times. As far as the colder air mass, that will be delayed for us. The really cold air will arrive early next week.

Rain Forecast Animation
7 AM to 11 PM
I have had some hesitation with this product and the specific timing. So let’s work off the general thought: Periods of rain this morning. Thunderstorms build mid afternoon to evening. A few cells may turn severe. The main risk will be strong winds, dangerous lightning, and spots with flash flooding in local downpours.
Wind Forecast: 7 AM to 11 PM
Peak Wind Gusts
Up to 45 mph inland, west of the big cities.
Afternoon Temperatures
A little milder than this weekend.
