Friday Morning Update

How about we get a nice weekend? It seems like a guarantee with the bonus that it will be one hour longer. This is the hour we lost back in the spring, we are about to balance time out as well as the weather.

This quiet weather pattern still has cold air, which is marked this morning with a freeze warning (for some).

Freeze Warning This Morning

This may be the final alert of this kind for the season. The reason it is confined to the Lower Eastern Shore is due to the area getting its first hard freeze. Inland areas are in the 20s and lower 30s, but already had a freeze end the growing season, so no ‘warning’ is required.

Morning Surface Weather

High Pressure still dominates the East Coast where pockets of Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories reach into South Carolina and Georgia.

Our quiet pattern will be warming over the next few days.

The storm track will remain across the Northern US and Great Lakes.

Mild weather will be with us and perhaps make a run for 70ºF. The contradiction may be some rain showers that could hold back temps at this point.

Storm Forecast

The next ‘suggestion’ for rain will be in the form of showers, not a washout for Wednesday and Thursday.

Farther out there may be a colder storm next weekend that could bring snow to northern and central Pennsylvania.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.  There has been no editor who can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm.
