January 14 Chilly Winds Some Snow Showers And Mountain Snow Cam
January 14 2023
Saturday Morning Report
The big story this weekend is the return of winter, sort of. This is NOT the big pattern change, but a reminder of the season with cold winds, wind chills, and snow showers. The higher mountain ski areas are in great shape, and we have a live cam from Deep Creek Lake below.
A new storm will be forming off the coast, which will reinforce the winds and bring eastern New England a snow event this weekend.

Morning Surface Weather
Strong winds from the north will reinforce the cold air as much of our region will struggle to move through the 30s today. Wind chills will feel up to 10 degrees colder all day.
Snow showers have been moving through the mountains, and even along I-81 overnight.

Watching Low Pressure form off the coast, which will throw back snow and ice to eastern New England.
This storm will only maintain our cold winds, but deepening into the Atlantic, it will help to build a blocking pattern to shift the jet stream to a cooler pattern for us later next week.
Snapshot Sunday
We are going to hear about snow for Cape Cod and Boston… It will be from this storm and it will help keep the north winds brisk for us in the Mid Atlantic.
7 Day Forecast
The delay of our colder pattern will be another week, as discussed in many reports this past week.
The next two storms are likely to bring us rain.
