...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...
The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of southern Delaware...and northeast Maryland...including
the following areas...in southern Delaware...Delaware Beaches and
Inland Sussex. In northeast Maryland...Caroline and Talbot.
* From 8 AM EDT this morning through Thursday morning.
* The remnants of Hurricane Ida will pass through the region today
and tonight. Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms
associated with this low will result in widespread 1 to 3 inches
of rain with locally higher amounts by Thursday morning.
Additionally, much of this rainfall will likely occur in a short
period of time, exacerbating the flooding threat. Combined with
wet antecedent conditions, this will lead to instances of flash
* Flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and poor drainage areas
is possible. Water is likely to cover the roads, especially in
low-lying areas. Roads and structures near rivers may be flooded.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
