Monday Morning Update
This is going to be quiet weather week but we do have a big story. This is our second morning in a row with either a Frost Advisory or Freeze Warning. However, after the chilly start, we will build in a BIG WARM UP with multiple days in the 80s. It will feel like summer in full swing later this week.
At this point, it looks like we may remain rain free until next weekend.
Some freezing numbers well inland, but more likely frosty conditions with mid 30s for most areas away from the water.
High Pressure signals a quiet weather pattern. With the clear sky and light wind, temps are near freezing this morning. Then we will swing the flow and build in heat during the week.
Today will be a seasonal day… near ‘normal’ numbers this afternoon.
Normal Low in Baltimore: 42ºF
Record 22ºF in 1985
SNOW: 3.0” in 1884
Normal High in Baltimore: 65ºF
Record 91ºF in 2013
Not nearly as cold starting Tuesday.
A light breeze will increase with a West wind 10 to 15 mph. It will begin the warming trend this week.
Let the warm up begin. This is the start of a long stretch of above average numbers.
A Ridge of High Pressure will send a pocket of very warm air across the Eastern US. However, notice there will be plenty of cooling by the end of the week for the rest of the nation.
Summer Heat for our Mid Atlantic Region to the Northeast.
It appears that as soon as Easter ends, next week will turn the corner with plenty of sun and warming each day back to summer heat.

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos, and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes, and even the computer glitches I may miss.
I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing, and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki and he was absolutely correct!
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect predicting the future.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There has been no editor that can check my work when I needed it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos, when she is able. That could be AFTER you read this.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
