April 30 Record Low Report Plus Another Chilly Start To A Sunny Day And Rain Timeline Sunday
April 30 2022
Saturday Morning Report
I want to start off with confirmation for the record report I wrote about yesterday morning. Baltimore’s BWI did official hit 32ºF. This did the mark for Baltimore of 33ºF set 1874. That is 148 years ago!
Here is the daily climate report from The National Weather Service. Usually they put out a special statement for a record, but I have not seen one for this, despite it being such a substantial account. I has asked them about it, but no response yet.

Morning Temperatures
This morning was chilly, but not as cold. It did drop into the 20s across southern PA.
Many 30s across metro areas and Delmarva provided another frost on the early crops.
The clear sky will allow the sun to warm us quickly.

Looking Ahead:
Tuesday To Saturday
We can’t seem to shake the stormy pattern, and it may amp up Friday into Saturday with steady rain. Also, well below average temps.
If you look closely, there is the suggestion for snow in western Maryland into next Saturday… That’s May 7 and getting a little late for many tastes.

7 Day Forecast
We will warm next week but will not get into the true heat. There will be some thunderstorms, then turning cooler. Next Friday and Saturday appears to be under the influence of a storm pattern that will be wet and chilly.
Next Saturday is the Six Pillars Entry Ride in Cambridge, MD. I am scheduled to do this ride (my first of this distance) and weather will be a major factor I am not happy about.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
