April 8 Weather Easter Freeze Warning North And Windy South
April 8, 2023
Saturday Morning Update
It seems like we continue the pattern of our coolest weather occurring on the weekends since most of the winter. Here we are on Easter Weekend, and clouds with cool temperatures are stuck in place. A stalled storm pattern to our south will help to do two things for our Mid Atlantic Region through Easter:
1. Pull in colder air prompting a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory Sunday Morning.
2. Increase gusty winds with persistent clouds for Southern Maryland and Delmarva.
Morning Surface Weather
Most of the Southern US is under the influence of unsettled weather south of the frontal boundary that stalled. This will send waves of Low Pressure and rain through that region all weekend.
It may seem like An Easter Nor’Easter for parts of the Mid Atlantic. Gusty winds plus cloud cover will make for a chilly Easter Sunday. Then we will warm up next week.

Afternoon Temperatures
We will remain cool again this afternoon.

Wind Forecast
The ironic twist here is that the advisory areas need light wind to allow temps to drop and frost to form. However, a brisk wind will be a dominant force for southern Maryland and Delmarva.

Afternoon Winds
Peak winds will gust to 25 mph or higher at times across Delmarva.

Storm Simulation: Saturday Afternoon to Monday Morning
The southern storm will remain south but will be the influencer for the wind. This will give way to High Pressure dominating our weather most of next week.
7 Day Forecast
It appears that as soon as Easter ends, next week will turn the corner with plenty of sun and warming each day back to summer heat.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos, and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes, and even the computer glitches I may miss.
I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing, and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki and he was absolutely correct!
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect predicting the future.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There has been no editor that can check my work when I needed it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos, when she is able. That could be AFTER you read this.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
