May 4 Thunderstorm Timeline And Chilly Rain To End The Week
May the 4th Be With You
Wednesday Morning Report
The expectation for heavy rain and thunder overnight played out and may have waken you up. Lingering rain this morning will be moving out, but we are in a set up for more showers today. They will be scattered as they redevelop this afternoon.
Then we get a break before a larger storm brings a few days of rain to make for a soggy end to the week.
Morning Set Up
Morning Temperatures
A mild start to the day…
Morning Surface Weather
A warm front is pushing through with the rain this morning. This will allow some sun to poke out mid day and heat us enough to fuel more storms this afternoon.
This will be followed by one day of a break, before the next larger weather system arrives to end the week.
Morning Radar Snapshot at 6:30 AM
Leftover rain for the morning commute, will be drying out in a couple of hours and allowing for some breaks of sun by noon.
Radar Simulation(s): Compare NAM 3Km to HRRR
The NAM is less active than the HRRR but both show the morning showers departing followed by developing thunderstorms this afternoon.

Looking Ahead:
Friday to Sunday
Rain returns before sunrise on Friday and will be with us through Saturday. This closed off system will have chilly temps building in with the least pleasant conditions on Saturday. I have been planning on the 6 Pillars Century Bike Event In Easton on Saturday, and seriously considering my decision given the conditions (rain, wind, and chilly 50s)
