July 14 Weather: Some Moisture From Barry And Big Heat Next Week

Severe Weather
Forecast
Tropics

Sunday July 14 2019

We are about to finish out a very nice weather weekend just sunny and hot. Barry is still a Tropical Storm and slowly moving north through Louisiana with winds down to 45 mph. The storm will lose its integrity in the next day but eventually some of the moisture will get pulled our way mid week. This will also shift the upper level winds and allow for some of the hottest air of the season to reach us by the end of next week.  Our forecast brings us more heat, humidity, and storms. So enjoy today.

Flood The Moisture

We will NOT get Barry, but the leftover moisture will feed into our next cold front and bring us thunderstorms as soon as Tuesday and Wednesday as seen in this forecast animation.

About Those Temperatures

Today: Hot and humid

Tomorrow: A little cooler and less humid (for a day)

Outlook

More heat is on the way. Long range modeling has had problems this summer running too hot beyond day 5, so we must consider this may be too hot. However, we should crank up the temps and humidity by next weekend and could have heat index values near 110ºF
