December 1 Winter Weather Advisory For Morning Snow Tomorrow
Monday December 1, 2025
Morning Report
We have a new month, and it will live up to tradition as this is the start of Meteorological Winter! Today will be cold and dry, and the attention is on our first winter event of the season.
HEADLINES
- Tuesday Morning Snow Thump Before Sunrise
- Inland Counties Under An Advisory May Have Schools Affected
- Light Accumulation 1” to 3”; Then Change To Rain By Noon
- Close To Baltimore/Beltway: Slushy Snow May stick on the grass, melt on roads
- South Will Get Some Mix Or all Rain: Roads Will Be Wet
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY
This is for Tuesday Morning, where the temps will be cold enough to have the snow lay and stay on roads.
There will be snow in more metro areas, but expected to be minimal slush or just wet, then turn to rain.

The snow is expected to arrive before sunrise for the areas that will be affected. It will NOT be a major storm, but an initial THUMP of heavy snow may be enough to overtake the warmer ground when it is still dark. That is why there is a chance for accumulation even with marginal temperatures.
Closer to Baltimore and the other cities along I-95, there may be snow on the grass, while the pavement could have minimal slush or just stay wet.
This is the most complicated area with the biggest bust potential, all based on how the ground responds. It will snow, then change to rain later in the morning. The commute will be complicated, while inland counties may have their first school impact of the season.
Below, I have a timeline breakdown AND closer view maps.
Morning Surface Weather
High Pressure is in control with the cold air. The storm will be developing in the Southern Plains and head our way more organized tonight.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I can also make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
