April 18 Warm Air Flows In With More Wind And A Mix Of Clouds Into Easter Weekend
April 18 2025
Friday Morning Report
Now, we turn the corner as temperatures bounce off the bottom. Compare the high temperatures on Thursday at 65F in Baltimore. Today and tomorrow, temperatures are expected to jump 10 degrees each day.
This will bring gusty winds and a mix of clouds. So yes, the temperatures will be warm and comfortable, but it comes at a price. It will not be perfect!
The storm system on the edge of our nice weather will persist with severe storms from Texas to the Midwest. By the time this reaches us, it will weaken, and any risk for showers will not help our growing drought.

Morning Temperatures
Surface Weather
This is ‘turning the corner’ on display. High Pressure moving off the coast will swing our wind flow FROM THE SOUTH! This is what will pump in warmer air today and the winds will be gusty (again).
This is part of a much larger storm system that is on repeat to bring severe storms across Texas and the Central Plains. We will miss out on most of that action, but it will send clouds our way with the warm air.
Wind Forecast 8 AM to 8 PM
The wind will increase FROM THE SOUTH during the day.
Wind Forecast at 5 PM
Gusts will be up to 30 mph.
Afternoon Temperatures
SATURDAY
Morning Temperatures
Wind Forecast 8 AM to 8 PM
Still breezy but not as strong.
Afternoon Temperatures
Storm Forecast Saturday to Tuesday
The action will persist across the same areas of the Midwest. On Saturday night, this may bring some evening showers to our northern areas (Southern PA).
Then the front arrives with spotty showers Monday and a better chance on Tuesday.
This is not substantial rain, and the drought woes will grow.
7 Day Forecast
WARMING UP
Peak Temps on Saturday in the 80s
Easter Sunday looks pleasant but with clouds. The chance for rain will be low and move in Monday and Tuesday.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
