Morning Report
This morning it should be noticeable that temperatures are mild and there is more moisture in the air. You may have some patchy fog on your ride early… Then a partly sunny day.
This weekend had looked like Saturday would be soggy. It has been trending lower with the chance for rain, and I will lean towards most of the showers and thunderstorms holding in the mountains. Metro areas and across Delmarva may have a damp morning with drizzle, but the chance for afternoon showers has dropped to 30%.
Temperatures will trend cooler Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Next week will bring the return warm up into the upper 80s.
Patchy fog this morning, with the main players split far away. The soggy Southeast will pump Low Pressure towards North Carolina this weekend… just out of our reach.
The cold front in the Eastern Great Lakes and Ohio Valley has been reduced to a thin line, but the cooler air is still a prominent feature on the other side.
We will get less rain than earlier expected, but we will definitely get the chill reinforced this weekend.

The warmest time of the day may be lunchtime.
This rain is looking less active than first thought. There will be thunderstorms in the mountains, and some may cross eastward… but metro areas have dropped to a 30% chance for showers.
A better chance for rain and thundershowers in the mountains. The rain chance drops to 30% showers in metro areas. This is a change from the expected rainy day as it looked earlier this week.
The reason: The Coastal Storm will pass farther south and not link up in time.
The flow from the Northwest will gust to 20 mph.
With the wind shift and rain showers, the temperatures are expected to drop during the day.
Chilly end to the weekend.
Much warmer for most of the work week.
The weekend will be cool but the rain will be more active in the mountains. A warm-up with dry weather next week.

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
