November 26 Warm Afternoon Then Colder Thanksgiving With Mountain Snow And Wintry Mix May End The Weekend
Wednesday November 26 2025
Most of the rain has moved through after producing the expected amounts over 0.25”. Today we get a brief warm up deep into the 60s, before the leading edge of the cold air arrives tonight. This will produce snow for far Western Maryland Mountains.
Thanksgiving will be COLDER and dry! It will be noticeable for morning Turkey Trots to the Ravens Game at night. Snow may add up to 1 to 3 inches across the mountains of Western Maryland and West Virginia will stick on the roads and may pile up a few inches.
The Ravens Home Game on Thursday night will be CHILLY! Temps will be in the 30s with wind chills falling in to the 20s.
Friday with the core of the arctic air that may keep many in the region in the 30s and yes some flurries could fly on Friday.
The active pattern looks like two more weather systems Sunday and Tuesday both with a child rain for most, but we introduce a wintry mix for our western suburbs.
Morning Temperatures
There are pockets of thick fog to start the day.

Surface Weather
This complex storm map can be broken into three parts.
- The deep south has strong thunderstorms that may turn severe. This is a signal of the energy with the storm system.
- Steady rain developing in the Mid West and Ohio Valley is the part that we will get into this afternoon.
- Snow in the northern Plains will reach Minneapolis and could affect plane travel. This is followed by the arctic air diving south and will reach Texas today.

Storm Forecast Today Through Friday
A warm up briefly today will be followed by the arrival of cold tonight. This will enhance the cold through the holiday and bottom out Friday morning.
Lake Effect Snow may be the main holiday story for our friends to the north.
The active storm track will shift our way later in the weekend.

Afternoon Temperatures
The range of temps will be between 65F and 70F.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I can also make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
