September 7 Lingering Morning Rain Then Gradual Clearing With Cool Air Again
Sunday, September 7, 2025
A different feel to the air today as the cold front has moved off the coast. Winds from the Northwest will eventually clear us out… gradually from the West. There is some rain in central Maryland and along I-95 this morning. Take a look at the live radar below. Rain may linger into the afternoon on the Eastern Shore, while the sun is expected to return to the cities.
The Full Corn Moon is tonight, and it will be visible in most areas. The rise time around Baltimore is 7:30 PM. Your ability to view it may be affected by local terrain, hills, trees, or buildings can obstruct your line of sight… So it could be up to 30 minutes later, depending on the conditions where you are.
Looking into the week ahead: We remain with the cool pattern and dry weather.
RAINFALL RECAP
Places where temperatures reached into the 90s with uncomfortable humidity helped to build the bands of thunderstorms. This resulted in some heavy rainfall.
The tropical outlook is ABSOLUTELY QUIET! The system we had been watching for a few days has fallen apart! As we enter the peak week of the tropical season, there is nothing in the Atlantic expected over the next 7 days.

Surface Weather
The cold front has moved off the coast, but a band of rain showers has lingered behind it. This is why we have some wet weather this morning into metro areas along I-95, and the rain will last into the afternoon on the Eastern Shore.
Meanwhile, a clear sky will build in gradually from the Northwest.
Ravens at the Buffalo Bills tonight: Temps will be cooler there, and a chance for rain showers.

Wind Forecast At Noon
A breeze FROM the Northwest may gust to 20 mph at times.
This will help to clear out the sky and gradually push the rain away.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I can also make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
