Monday Morning Report
Some areas are still recovering from the severe storm that passed through over the weekend. Today will be seasonal with more clouds and some spotty showers. A band of steadier rain will move through tonight, then open us up to a very warm week ahead.
The next chance for rain will be Friday to Saturday.
Today’s Weather
Today will bring more clouds again, and as a warm front tries to move through, maybe some spotty midday showers.
The main action is a storm in the Great Lakes and a trailing cold front that will pass through tonight.
This will bring a line of steadier rain tonight, which will be more prevalent to the north of Baltimore.
In many areas, we are deep in drought, and this will not be the event to break it, but any rain is needed and welcome.

Looking Ahead:
Thursday
High Pressure settles in with sunshine, light wind, and warm temps.
Storm Forecast: Thursday To Saturday
I have lower confidence in computer model reliability… so this look at rain for Friday has a 40% chance of verifying, followed by steady rain with a slow-moving cold front on Saturday.
Saturday
If this verifies, the cold front will be a slow mover and allow for a steady rain and maybe some thunderstorms to take a day to cross the region.
This still may add up to under 1/2 inch in metro areas. We need a lot more to make a dent in the drought.
7 Day Forecast
Temperatures remain above average.
The next rain will bring showers on Friday and steady rain on Saturday.

RESTATING MY MESSAGE ABOUT DYSLEXIA
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
