Wednesday Morning Report
A backdoor cold front is moving through that will shift the winds from the North and eventually East. This will bring chilly air off the ocean and push it inland. So, after a high in the lower 70s yesterday, today will barely make the lower 60s…. Then it will be in the 50s tomorrow.
The down side will increase cloud cover and may affect viewing of the total lunar eclipse after midnight late Thursday/Friday.
The winds will shift this weekend to bring back the warmer air and eventually needed rain.
A strong storm moving out of the Rockies will erupt in a severe storm outbreak that we will track Friday and will reach us in a diminished form later Sunday.

A backdoor cold front is moving through. High Pressure to our North is expanding colder air that has more support east of the mountains and along the coast.
Farther inland, this front stalls and warmer air will hang on.
The east wind will bring in clouds… This may interfere with the viewing of the Total Lunar Eclipse Thursday overnight…. especially near the Bay and towards the coast.
A backdoor cold front: Winds will shift from the North to the East, picking up cooler air from the ocean.
Cooler closer to the coast. Still warm across and west of the mountains.
This storm will develop heavy rain and severe storms across the Midwest and Southeast, while a blizzard will rage on the north side.
This will weaken as it moves our way, but it will still provide rain and some strong storms for metro areas and the coast on Sunday and Monday.
Cooler winds for a few days will increase clouds east of the mountains.
Warming back up this weekend with the best chance for showers Sunday and thunderstorms later Sunday into Monday.

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
