Friday Morning Report
The trend is fast and colder. The clipper to our west and the coastal storm trying to form will have some connection over our area. This will develop a band of snow inland and a mix to rain in metro areas. Temperatures are just above freezing, so any impact will be farther north and west. Accumulation may cause travel problems in Central Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia tonight.
A band of snow may drop a coating in spots overnight and end on the Eastern Shore before noon. This will usher in the colder arctic air!
Winds tomorrow will make the afternoon feel very cold for the Penn State game in State College, PA, and the Ravens game later in Baltimore.
The outlook for Christmas also looks colder and might include flurries on Christmas Eve (day).

Baltimore Drought Update
The Clipper is moving faster, farther south, and stronger, which is why the chance for light snow has increased… This will feed energy into the developing Coastal Storm.
All of this will increase the winds and colder air for the weekend and into next week.
A band of snow may drop a coating in spots overnight and end on the Eastern Shore before noon. This will usher in the colder arctic air!
Winds will make the afternoon feel very cold for the Penn State game in State College, PA, and the Ravens game later in Baltimore.
A cold front may provide flurries just for ambiance snow… no travel issue is expected with this.
It will reinforce colder air to hold into the holiday.
The cold is looking to hold.
This weekend will feel like winter, with temps staying below freezing.
Flurries might reach us on Christmas Eve, then stay cold into Christmas… Not the warm up it looked like earlier.

I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos and occasional other glitches. I take responsibility for my mistakes and even the computer glitches I may miss. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here, you may have missed it: I have dyslexia and found out during my second year at Cornell University. It didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree and being the first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region. One of my professors told me that I had made it that far without knowing and to not let it be a crutch going forward. That was Mark Wysocki, and he was absolutely correct! I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse. I also can make mistakes in forecasting. No one is perfect at predicting the future. All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky. There has been no editor who can check my work while writing and to have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline. Barbara Werner is a member of the web team that helps me maintain this site. She has taken it upon herself to edit typos when she is available. That could be AFTER you read this. I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me… It’s part of my charm. #FITF
