Holiday Weekend Weather Timing Storms And Beach Outlook Through Independence Day
June 30 2022
Thursday Evening Update
The start of the July coinciding with the Independence Day Holiday Weekend brings back true summer weather. That means we get some heat and storms that may or may not affect your plans.
While my wife and I will be the MC for the Let Freedom Ring Parade in Sykesville on Saturday, I do not have a list of all the events or fireworks displays around the region. I do know they range from Friday to Monday, so I wanted to give a broad range of what we may expect. I included the Ocean City beach conditions through Sunday below as well.
Please note the storm forecasts are mainly later in the days, but specific timing is a suggestion now. Compare model simulations are more reliable by the hour for the day of, and I will be posting them each morning.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
