Thursday Morning Update
This week of storms was capped by the periods of heavy rain yesterday afternoon and overnight. Some places saw between 3 and 5 inches of rain, resulting in local flooding.
That system will be moving off of the coast, allowing cooler winds from the Northeast and a chance to dry out.
The next batch of rain will begin the weekend to be followed by a pleasant set up to end the weekend. Then next week brings back high heat!
Rainfall Totals
Doppler Radar has indicated the pockets of heavy rain since Wednesday morning. This included over 5 inches in northern Carroll County. We can see the track of the storms with 2 to 3 plus inches of rain across central Maryland and into parts of Delmarva, with another patch over York County in PA.

Morning Surface Weather
Low Pressure will be moving off of the coast and taking the bulk of the rain with it. Clouds will linger and a Northeasterly Wind will follow. This will keep the afternoon cooler for much of the region.

*Disclaimer due to frequent questions:
I am aware there are some spelling and grammar typos. I have made a few public statements over the years, but if you are new here you may have missed it:
I have dyslexia, and found out at my second year at Cornell. I didn’t stop me from getting my meteorology degree, and being first to get the AMS CBM in the Baltimore/Washington region.
I do miss my mistakes in my own proofreading. The autocorrect spell check on my computer sometimes does an injustice to make it worse.
All of the maps and information are accurate. The ‘wordy’ stuff can get sticky.
There is no editor that can check my work when I need it and have it ready to send out in a newsworthy timeline.
I accept this and perhaps proves what you read is really from me…
It’s part of my charm.
