September 25 Fall Pattern Of Quick Changing Temps And Hurricane Sam

Forecast

Saturday September 25

Crisp morning with patch fog, sunshine with quick afternoon warm up, then quick cooling in the evenings. That is the standard Fall pattern we are in this weekend.

It’s important to note that sunset for Baltimore today will be at 6:58 PM.  If you have late day plans outside, it will start getting chilly soon after 5 PM as the sun gets low.

Tropics:

We have one day with T’storms next week, but also watching Major Hurricane Sam fro steering currents off of the East Coast next weekend.

Morning Surface Weather

High Pressure is in control. High thin clouds may mix in today, but that cold front in the Mid West will not reach us this weekend.

Tropical Storm Teresa: North of Bermuda

Hurricane Sam: A Major storm in the open Atlantic for the next 5 days.

Tropical Forecast

Forecast plots from the National Hurricane Center for the next 5 days.

Snapshot: Saturday October 2

Hurricane Sam appears to be well off the US coast, and making the turn north…

Jet Stream

The steering currents appear to direct ‘Sam’ off of the East Coast. But this depends on the timing of the next Trough located over four region next weekend.

If we get that, it will protect us. But we need to watch these upper level patterns for any adjustment in timing and location that could point Sam…
