Tornado Watch Cancelled This Morning More Severe Weather Afternoon

Warnings

Wednesday September 1

A Tornado Watch was issued early this morning that covered Washington and Baltimore. It has since been cancelled, but a signal of what is to come.

A severe storm cell did move through Baltimore City prompting a warning around 5 AM. The is moving along I-95, and prompted a Flood Warning in Harford and Cecil County until 11:45 AM. Downpours can drop more than 1 inch of rain in less than 1 hour.

This was is a signal of the energy in the atmosphere, and more is on the way.

This Doppler Radar snapshot shows two cells of heavy rain moving to the Northeast. 

There will be a lull in the activity most of this morning, then expect more activity this afternoon.

The remains of Ida are north Knoxville, TN this morning. 

There will be steady rain redeveloping, mainly west of Baltimore for the morning, then the core Low with severe threat arrives mid afternoon for much of the region.

Metro areas and southeast get a lull in rain this morning. Steady and heavy rain will last west and north.

Higher rainfall north and west of the Low AND with severe storms cells.

Afternoon/Evening: Watches may be issued for Severe Storms or Tornados. That will be for ‘potential’. 

A ‘WARNING’ will be only when it is spotted and plotted through a town.
