August 21 Weather Still Hot And More Strong To Severe Storms

Severe Weather
Forecast

Wednesday August 21 2019

The heat and humidity are still with us, but it’s starting to taper off a little as storm chances are increasing. We should get more widespread storms today and tomorrow as a cold front gets closer and finally pushes some refreshing cooler air in for the weekend. We will continue with the chance for storms to turn severe and there could be multiple storms between 3 PM and midnight.

Severe Storm Risk

The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the greater risk area just north of the Maryland line into the eastern half of PA. But storms do not know borders. So take this with a grain of salt and like the past few days, central Maryland can get in on the dangerous weather that may include:

Damaging wind over 60 mph, large hail over 1 inch diameter, local flash flooding, frequent cloud to ground lightning, and isolated tornadoes.
