Live Weather Widgets Tracking During High Wind Warning

Live Weather Widgets Tracking During High Wind Warning

Sunay February 24 2019

Our region is under a High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory through Monday. The strongest winds are expected tonight where many places could have gusts between 45 and 60 mph. Some already have.

At 6 PM the fastest winds speeds around the area were cranking on the western areas and just reaching metro Washington. These were just about to reach the Chesapeake Bay ares. These include:

  • Dulles = 49 mph
  • Frederick = 48 mph
  • Hagerstown = 43 mph
  • Winchester = 41 mph
  • Westminster = 31 mph
  • BWI  = 18 mph
  • Annapolis = 5 mph

If you do not have the strong winds yet, you will very shortly.

I wanted to put together a few ways for you to track the weather with a couple of widgets. First a remind of the locations affected:

High Wind Warning/Wind Advisory

  • The winds will pick up this afternoon and if you read my report yesterday you saw the strongest winds would reach north central Maryland. This now includes Cecil, northerner Harford/Baltimore, and Carroll Counties. Along with Frederick and westward in Maryland plus southern Pennsylvania: Wind speeds may gust to 60 mph
  • The Wind Advisory for the rest of central and Southern Maryland: Wind Gusts to 50 mph
  • There is a very real concern of trees coming down and power being kicked out.
