Feeling Like Fall: After Morning Rain Chill May Bring First Frost Tonight

Feeling Like Fall: After Morning Rain Chill May Bring First Frost Tonight

Saturday October 13 2018

A band of rain this morning is the mark of our pattern change. Fall is really here now and will stay. It is interesting how Hurricane Mathew has helped to shift the jet stream and opposing our warm start to the month, the next four weeks appear to be below average temperatures. This will start with the chance for the first frost for inland areas Sunday morning. There will be a better chance for frost next week and a good chance for the first flakes and stickage in western Maryland next weekend.

Here’s the quick look, starting with the stats and morning rain.

Local Weather Stats For October 13 in Baltimore

High Temperatures

It will be chilly. This will be about 10 degrees below average

First Frost Sunday Morning?

With a clearing sky and light wind, temps will tank tonight. The ground is often cooler than thermometers at 5 Ft above the ground. So frost can occur when temps are in the upper 30s.

The next rain wil arrive Monday night/Tuesday. Then we watch for colder air next weekend which will open up Lake Effect Snow. Garrett County could get their first stickage.
