Severe Storm Risk Again Today Plus Tropical Rain Through The Weekend

Tuesday May 15

It’s going to be a soggy week of weather. The chance of rain will continue just about each day into the weekend. This includes Preakness Day in Baltimore.  Computer models are putting as much as 7 inches in central Maryland. This comes from a tropical system located in the Gulf of Mexico near Florida that will pump in moisture all week.

Today, Severe Storms and Flooding possible once again. We start this morning with temperatures in the mid 60s to near 70ºF and a hint of mugginess. It will feel like a summer day and might not be that comfortable. The stationary front is located to our north and that will be the focus for the strongest storms today.  We need to watch mid afternoon and evening for slow moving storms to develop in Pennsylvania and slip to the south into tonight. Most likely after 5PM These may contain large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall.
