Heat Builds And Approaching Records For The Next Three Days

Heat Builds And Approaching Records For The Next Three Days

Wednesday May 2 2018

Yesterday was the big shift in our weather pattern. Some areas had frost in the morning but most areas reached 80ºF or higher. Even warmer air is flowing in today and will be with us for the rest of the work week. Now we enter the record territory and it will be close. Looking back at the history books, having multiple days in a row with records is pretty common. So we could call this and early season heat wave. May 2nd records were set or tied back in 1913. There are 4 record highs that were set or tied in 1930. So getting a one or a few this week is possible.

The heat will break with showers and maybe a thunderstorm Friday evening. Then temps gradually cool down over the weekend with dry weather.

Cold Front

The line of showers ahead of the cold front will approach on Friday and most likely reaches our region by evening. The severe outbreak across the nation will run its course and not be nearly as strong when it arrives here. We could however have some rumbles of thunder.
